Verification rules

Impartiality, verifiers, confidentiality, scores, validity, complaints and appeals: how we work and how you can hold us to account.

Parallel Discover is not a certification body and is not accredited. It does, however, work with similar rules: impartiality, qualified verifiers, confidentiality, complaints and appeals. We publish them so that anyone reading one of our reports knows how it was produced.

Version 1.0 · 30 October 2026

1. Scope

These rules apply to PD Supplier Check, PD Quality Check, PD Environmental Check, PD Safety Check and PD ESG Check. For second-party audits, the criteria agreed with the client apply; rules 3, 4 and 5 apply in any case.

2. What a verification is and is not

A verification checks, on a sample basis and at the date of the verification, that the company’s answers are supported by evidence. It does not guarantee that the company is compliant at all times. It is not a certification, it is not assurance of a sustainability report and it does not replace checks required by law.

3. Impartiality

  • Parallel Discover does not provide consultancy to the companies it verifies.
  • A verifier may not verify a company to which they, or a company connected to them, have provided consultancy or dedicated training in the last 24 months.
  • Before each assignment the verifier declares in writing that they have no conflicts of interest.
  • The price is fixed and does not depend on the outcome.
  • Anyone can report a possible conflict of interest through the complaints procedure.

4. Verifiers

Verifications are carried out by lead auditors qualified in management systems and in the standard of the service, in the company’s language (Italian, Portuguese or English). The report and level are reviewed before they are sent.

5. Confidentiality and data

Answers, documents and reports are confidential. Only the company, the verifier and, for a Supplier Check bought by a customer, the customer who commissioned the verification can see them. Data stay on servers in the European Union and documents are deleted 3 years after the date of the report. The public register shows only the attestation details.

6. Scores, levels and outcome

The method is described in How it works: 2/1/0 points, average of the areas, three levels, blocking and zero-tolerance questions. The outcome is valid at the date of the verification.

7. Validity, suspension and withdrawal

  • The attestation is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
  • Parallel Discover may suspend it if it receives well-founded reports or if the company does not cooperate with a review.
  • It may withdraw it if it finds false data or documents, or if the company uses the result in a misleading way.
  • The current status is always the one shown in the register.

8. Use of the result

The company may quote the service, level, date and register code, and show the full report and attestation. It may not call them a “certificate” or “certification”, imply accreditation, or show only part of them in a way that changes their meaning.

9. Complaints

Anyone can make a complaint about a verification, a verifier or the use of an attestation by writing to reclami@paralleldiscover.com. We acknowledge receipt within 5 working days and give a reasoned decision within 30 days. The complaint is reviewed by an auditor other than the one who carried out the verification.

10. Appeals

The verified company can challenge the outcome within 30 days of the report, explaining the reason and attaching the evidence. The appeal is reviewed by an auditor other than the one who carried out the verification. The decision is given within 30 days; in the meantime the status in the register stays unchanged.

11. Changes

The rules may change. The version published on the date of purchase applies; previous versions remain available on request.
