Why a questionnaire is not enough
Qualifying a supplier with a questionnaire is quick, but the answers remain declarations. Visiting every supplier, on the other hand, costs time and travel, especially when the supply chain is abroad. PD Supplier Check combines the two: the supplier’s self-assessment, checked by an independent verifier, on site too.

What we check
The questionnaire covers six areas. For each one we ask for the evidence an experienced auditor expects to see.
Organisation and management
A written, signed policy, people responsible for quality, safety, environment and personnel, an up-to-date list of legal obligations, valid permits, internal audits and management review.
Labour and human rights
Minimum age and document checks, freely chosen work with no deductions, contracts, working hours and overtime, wages at least at the legal minimum, freedom of association, no discrimination or harassment.
Health and safety
Risk assessment, training and protective equipment, safe machinery and installations, emergency management with clear and signed exits, injury log and analysis.
Environment
Environmental permits, energy and water measured, waste managed and tracked, chemicals labelled and stored safely, discharges and emissions under control.
Ethics
Rules on corruption, conflicts of interest and gifts, data protection, an accessible whistleblowing channel with no retaliation.
Supply chain
Subcontracting declared and authorised by the customer, requirements passed on to its own suppliers, traceability of materials and batches.
Four questions are zero tolerance: child labour, forced labour, emergency exits and undeclared subcontracting. If any one is not met, the outcome is Critical, whatever the score.
How it runs

Questionnaire
The supplier receives access to the Client area and completes the questionnaire, uploading the required evidence for each answer.

Document review
Within 15 working days the verifier checks each answer and confirms it, corrects it or marks it as not verifiable.

Site visit
With Full verification we visit the site: departments, sample documents and confidential interviews with workers.

Report
Within 10 working days: outcome, verified score by area next to the self-assessment, findings with the expected action, and attestation.
What you receive
A report you can read in five minutes
- Outcome: Good (85% or more), Acceptable with actions (60–84%) or Critical.
- Verified score by area, next to the supplier’s self-assessment.
- Findings with severity, missing evidence and expected action, with closure deadlines.
- Attestation of verification valid for 12 months, with a code anyone can check in the public register.
The attestation is not a certificate of conformity: it states the outcome of an independent verification carried out under our Verification rules.

Frequently asked questions
Is the result valid for all my customers?
Yes. The report is yours and you can share it with anyone you like; the customer checks the attestation in the register using the code.
How long is the outcome valid?
The attestation is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. After that, a new check updates the result.
Is it a certification?
No. It is an independent verification under the Parallel Discover Verification rules; it does not replace accredited certification.
Can I improve my score?
Yes. Close the findings and, within 90 days, ask for a follow-up check, document review only, at a fixed price: you will find it in the online quote.
Are workers interviewed?
Yes, in Full verification: interviews are confidential, without managers present, and in the workers’ language.
Do you also provide consultancy to help us improve?
No. To stay impartial, we do not provide consultancy to the companies we verify: the report shows what is missing, and how to fix it is up to you.
